DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia men’s soccer team fell in overtime to a golden goal from Flagler Saturday, 1-0, at the UNG Soccer Complex at Lynn Cottrell Park.
Both teams had opportunities in regulation, but Garrett Liles and Flagler’s goalie, Andrea Lubbia, each made excellent saves that sent the match eventually to overtime. In the final minute of the first overtime period, FC’s Max Lambertz scored off a Joeran Osland corner kick to win the game for the Saints.
NOTES
– North Georgia falls to 0-2-1 in overtime games this season. UNG is 3-5-1 in matches decided by a goal or less, having lost three straight in one goal fashion.
– Liles made nine saves on the day.
