Coach David Dowse Resumes as Head Coach of Lady Indians Basketball

After returning from Thanksgiving break, LCHS Principal Billy Kirk, Athletic Director Steve Horton, and Superintendent Dr. Rob Brown met to strategize a plan forward for the Lady Indians Basketball Team. After considering several options, the decision was made to ask Coach David Dowse to reconsider his resignation as the Head Coach of the Lady Indians Basketball Team and to finish the season with the team. Coach Dowse agreed to resume his coaching duties and after meeting with the team Monday after school, he led the team in their afternoon practice. Coach Dowse will continue as the head coach for the remainder of the season.

At a parent and player meeting Monday evening, Principal Billy Kirk announced the reinstatement of Coach Dowse. He encouraged the players and their parents to continue working together and to focus on team goals which have earned them the current number one team ranking in GHSA’s AAA classification. The Lady Indians will travel to Union County this Thursday for their next regularly scheduled game.
