Former U.S. Marine, Army Ranger Tyler Tolin will run for Ga. House of Representatives in District 9

Press Release

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — Tyler Tolin, a conservative Republican and former U.S. Marine and Army Airborne Ranger, announced today that he will run for the Georgia House of Representatives in District 9 in 2022.

“I’m running because I am tired of these go-along-to get-along establishment Republicans who compromise their principles in exchange for a plum committee appointment,” Tolin said. “I am a veteran and a war fighter who will stand up against leadership when their policies threaten our conservative north Georgia values. I will never compromise our principles. Never.”

During his 52-month deployment in war zones in Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa, Tolin was tasked with meeting with governors, ambassadors, Sunis, Shiites and Kurds in an attempt to help them form a viable government.

“I’ve been in those situations and it’s not easy. Trust me,” he said. “If I can work with people who want to kill me because I’m a Christian, I’m sure I can work with Georgians on both sides of the aisle for what is best for District 9.”

Tolin is a strong supporter of President Donald J. Trump and the America First philosophy who will fight for what he believes, including that America is a nation of laws, that it is not a racist nation, that citizens have a right to life, a right to bear arms, an obligation to protect our borders and to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Georgia schools.

“I swear my oath again to the great American patriots of District 9 that I will defend the Constitution of the United States so help me God.”
