Road Department on standby to treat possible icy conditions

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement and a Hazardous Outlook regarding the possibility of light freezing drizzle this morning into midafternoon, which could result in a light coating of ice and patchy slick spots on roadways, especially elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. Additionally, light rain may change to light snow and light freezing rain across parts of northeast Georgia tonight through Saturday morning. Motorists should use caution for any slick spots. Our Road Department will be on standby to treat any icy patches on county bridges and roads.
