Flowery Branch- The Lumpkin County Lady Indians tore through the Region 7AAA tournament just like the did their regular season region schedule and came out champions once again.

With wins over Dawson County in the semi-finals and East Forsyth in the Championship, Lumpkin wrapped up their second region title in as many years. Things weren’t as easy as the Lady Indians woulld’ve liked for them to be in the championship game vs East Forsyth, as they found themselves trailing 15-13 after the first quarter. An 18-10 second quarter gave the Indians some breathing room and allowed them to take a 33-23 lead into halftime, and they never looked back.

the Lady Indians will now shift their focus to the AAA State Playoffs as they look to make a run at a state championship and make good on that no. 1 overall ranking they’ve had for the entire year.
