UNG women’s tennis team earns 4th seed in NCAA Southeast Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – For the fifth year in a row, the University of North Georgia women’s tennis team is in the NCAA Southeast Regional after being named the No. 4 seed on Tuesday night’s selection show by the national office.

North Georgia will make their fifth trip to the postseason in program history and will match up with fifth-seeded Wingate in the opening round to be contested at Columbus State. The winner of the May 6 matchup will take on the top-seeded Cougars the next day.

On the other side of the Southeast, second-seeded Flagler will play host to third-seeded Queens, sixth-seeded Newberry and seventh-seeded Mount Olive.

Each advancing team after the regionals conclude on May 7 will head to the Division II Women’s Tennis National Championship in Altamonte Springs, Florida, May 17-21.
