Augusta, Ga- The Lumpkin County Lady Indians are now set to make their 3rd straight Elite Eight appearance on Tuesday night in Augusta, Georgia, where they will face off against the Cross Creek Razorbacks.

Lumpkin punched their ticket to the Elite Eight with an impressive 66-32 road victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Lumpkin lost in the Region Championship game to Wesleyan earlier this month, meaning that their path to the state championship game will be a well-traveled one as they’ll have been on the road for all their games since round 1.

The Lady Indians and the Lady Razorbacks have some bad blood between them, as Cross Creek kept the Lady Indians from advancing to the state championship 3 years ago with a 1-point victory over the Tribe in Dahlonega.

The last time these two met in that Final Four matchup, this core Senior group of Mary Mullinax, Lexi Pierce, Kate Jackson, Sarah Major, and Elizabeth Walker were just doe-eyed sophomores.

Now two seasons and a State Championship later, those young sophomores are wily vets looking to avenge a 1-point loss that still weighs heavy on their minds.

This time around they’ll see Cross Creek in enemy territory, but the Tribe travels well and a lot of the purple faithful will make the trip to Augusta to watch these senior’s play in their third Elite Eight playoff game.

Tipoff for the Lumpkin-Cross Creek game will be at 6:00PM.
