Lumpkin County School System employee tested positive for COVID-19

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – Lumpkin County School Superintendent Dr. Rob Brown issued a press release Friday (Apr. 14) that states: “We were informed this afternoon that a Lumpkin County School System Employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee last worked in a school on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, assisting with the meal service program. In accordance with HIPPA, we cannot disclose the identity of the affected person who is now self-isolating while recuperating.

The press release also states, “Those who worked in close proximity to the employee have been notified and instructed to self-isolate 14 days. As an added precaution all school areas the employee visited are being sanitized and disinfected.

“We remain in contact with our local Health Department and are applying every precaution to follow CDC and GADPH recommendations.”
