Motorcyclist killed near Blood Mountain Cove

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga — Georgia State Patrol reported that a Jackson County woman was killed Sunday afternoon when she lost control of her motorcycle on Georgia Highway 11/U.S. 129 in Lumpkin County.

According to the accident report, Johnna Carr, 59, was traveling northbound on U.S. 129 near Blood Mountain Cove on a 2016 Kawasaki ZX1000 when she lost control of her motorcycle and overturned on the roadway. Carr traveled into the oncoming (south) lane of travel and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling south.”

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

No charges will be filed in the collision.
