Three arrested for trafficking methamphetamine

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — What started as a routine traffic stop n Hwy. 400 by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office on July 22, resulted in three felony arrests for trafficking methamphetamine.

According to the arrest report, Deputy Corey Morgan spotted a Dodge Ram pickup truck with the driver side rear view mirror broken off and initiated the stop. The driver, 42-year-old Michael Todd Hooks of Forsyth, Ga., admitted that his license was suspended and that he may have a warrant from another county.

Hooks, along with passengers Kathy Sue Eargle, 56 of Orange Springs, Fl. and Oscar deJesus, Rodriguez, 22 of Gainesville, were asked to exit the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced a small amount of meth, digital scales, meth smoking devices.

All three were charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
