Spring Career Expo Scheduled April 11

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Employment is making a come back in many north Georgia counties, including Lumpkin where the Spring Career Expo is planned for April 11 from 1-4 p.m. in the Parks and Recreation Department, 365 Riley Road in Dahlonega.

State Senator Steve Gooch said recently, “Just about every employer I’ve talked to has jobs. Arcadia Louvered Roofs, Wahoo Docks, Refrigiware all these companies are looking for employees and can’t seem to find candidates. Hopefully the job fair will take care of that.”

Many employers offering a variety of jobs have registered to participate in hte event, including Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, Piedmont Automotive Products Inc., PolyPortables, Lumpkin County School System, State Farm Insurance, TruGreen, University of North Georgia and Wahoo Docks. Several other employers are expected to register.

The Expo is being co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), Development Authority of Lumpkin County, Lumpkin County School System, Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation Department and Dahlonega-Lumpkin Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
