Mr. Billy D. Freeman: Obituary

Mr. Billy D. Freeman, age 85 , of Dahlonega passed away Friday, July 07, 2017 at the Oaks at Limestone following a period of declining health.

Billy was born June 12, 1932 in Cartersville, Georgia to parents James Howard and Lizzie Highfield Freeman. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and was a member of Christian Church of Adairsville, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jack Peck, a granddaughter, and mother in law Nola Cowart Miles and a number of brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Gertrude Cowart Freeman of Dahlonega, daughter; Patricia Ann Peck, Dahlonega, son and daughter-in-law, Charles Freeman and Sherry Sutton, Cumming, sister; Evolina Williams, Panama City, Florida, and brother, Charles Freeman of Adairsville, Georgia. Six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and also daughter in law Barbara Freeman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Buffington officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Sunday.
