UNG’s Evan Davis, Jordan Day named preseason All-Conference

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Peach Belt Conference announced its men’s soccer preseason all-conference team, and University of North Georgia seniors Evan Davis and Jordan Day were two of the 11 named to the team.

A senior midfielder from Griffin, Georgia, Davis played in 15 matches last season, starting 14 of those. He scored one goal and was named to the PBC All-Academic Team as well as the Presidential Honor Roll.

A redshirt senior defender from Beverley, England, Day appeared in just three games last season, taking a redshirt to return for his senior year. He made 17 appearances in 2017, scoring a goal and three assists from his centerback position.

Young Harris led the way with four honorees on the team with UNG, Clayton State and Francis Marion each earning two positions on the squad. Lander’s Thibault Chretien rounded out the 11.

The Nighthawks open the season on September 6 at home against Lincoln Memorial with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.
