Development Authority to discuss Gateway Corridor Monday
News November 16, 2019DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Development Authority of Lumpkin County will present draft Gateway Corridor Regulations & Design Guidelines when it meets Monday Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. in the Lumpkin County Administration Building, Courthouse Hill.
Development Authority Executive Director Rebecca Mincey said planning for the corridor has been underway for many months. It has been a collaboration of city and county officials based on the input provided by citizens during stakeholder meetings
The Carl Vincent Institute at the University of Georgia has spent months collecting input from everyone about what they want to see. Citizens’ comments dealt primarily with transportation, zoning and aesthetics.
Because it will be such an important presence on the corridor, representatives from North Georgia Health Systems have also been involved in planning.
The architect firm of TSW has presented details about design guidelines with examples of previous projects they have worked on.
Members of the authority will also review financials for Sept. and Oct. 2019 approve minutes of the Sept. and Oct. meetings as well as a draft 2020 budget.
