Lumpkin Co. comeback attempt at North Hall falls just short

The Lumpkin Co. Indians (2-9, 0-3 Region 7-3A) lost to the North Hall Trojans (3-5, 1-0 Region 7-3A) on the road on Tuesday night. They fought back hard in the second half, but the Indians couldn’t score enough to erase the 4-0 deficit early in the second half.

The lone goal of the first half came from North Hall with 20 minutes remaining in the first half. Lumpkin Co. trailed 1-0 at halftime.

North Hall started the second half strong with three goals in the first 10 minutes. Lumpkin Co. fought back, with a goal from junior Dylan Bodney with 25 minutes remaining. Senior Dylan Southin scored on a long, high-arching kick that sailed over the goalie’s head. Despite their efforts, the Indians couldn’t quite complete the comeback, as they fell 4-2.

The Indians’ next game will be on Thursday, March 12th, as they travel to play at Fannin Co.
