LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of North Georgia softball team has been named the No. 1 team in the nation by the NFCA Wednesday.
North Georgia captured 12 first place votes, rising one spot from last week’s poll. Texas A&M – Commerce took the remaining four first place votes and sit six points back of UNG in the poll. Augustana, Lincoln Memorial and Rollins round out the top five.
Upcoming opponents for the Nighthawks that are also in the poll include No. 15 Young Harris and No. 25 UAH, while Auburn Montgomery is receiving votes.
North Georgia will take the field on Monday, March 22, to open Peach Belt play at Flagler.
