LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 20 University of North Georgia rifle team defeated VMI Saturday afternoon, finishing with an aggregate score of 4591, 64 points better than the Keydets. VMI’s women’s team finished third in the event with a score of 4402.
Jaden-Ann Fraser was the top shooter on the day, ending on top of both the smallbore and air rifle leaderboards. After all six strings in smallbore scored at 91 or above, Fraser shot a 590 in air rifle, including a perfect 100 string in the second set of 10 shots. She finished her air rifle shooting with back-to-back 99s.
Alyssa Kiser was second in air rifle, shooting a 589 in the discipline, putting all six strings between 97 and 99 in scoring. Dawson Kissik finished fourth in both disciplines and second overall in aggregate scoring.
North Georgia will next be in action next Saturday at Wofford for a SoCon matchup against the Terriers.
