Mrs. Angela Jaie Rogers, age 44, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, October 1, 2018.

Angela was born in Albany, Oregon on May 5, 1974. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen LeCoe. Angela was a loving mother to three daughters and one son. Her favorite place on this earth was the Oregon Coast. Angela loved animals and all of God’s creatures. She loved to take long drives listening to “old school” rock. Angela was deeply loved by her family.

Survivors include her daughters Autumn Christa Rogers, Alyssa Jean Rogers, and Anastasia Jayde Park; son Austyn Colt Rogers; father Virgil Cramblett; sister Jamie LeCoe and her nephew Donovan LeCoe.

A private memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

Pamela Bowlby Glaze: Obituary

Mrs. Pamela Bowlby Glaze, age 63, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.

Mrs. Glaze was born in New Jersey on November 27, 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Linda Bowlby; and her brother Mark Bowlby. Mrs. Glaze has lived in Dahlonega for a number of years. She was a loving mother and cared deeply for her animals. Her love for the mountains she lived in escalated at this time of the year because she loved fall and winter. Mrs. Glaze also loved the beach and her favorite beach to visit was Coco Beach. Mrs. Glaze had worked in early childhood care with the Lumpkin County Head Start.

Survivors include her daughters Kelly Lynn Glaze and Kim Robinson; son Chris Robinson; sister Cyndie Lee; and brother David Bowlby.

Ned E. Gooch: Obituary

Mr. Ned E. Gooch, age 77, of Suches passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

Mr. Gooch was born in Suches on July 8, 1941 to the late Homer and Mabel Wilkins Gooch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Blondene Bryan; brothers Glenn Gooch, Bill Gooch, Tom Gooch, and Ervin Gooch. Mr. Gooch served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a small engine mechanic working with Sears for more than 30 years. Mr. Gooch was a loving husband, father and uncle. He was a quiet man and did not like to be in the spotlight.  He was kind to everyone. He loved to hunt and fish and some of his daughter’s favorite memories are the times he took her fishing. Mr. Gooch was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Suches, GA.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carol Gooch; daughter Laura Elizabeth Gooch, both of Suches; sister Kathleen Fitts, Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law Inez and Paul Watkins, Jackson; sister Clara Mae Kidd, Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Ann and Jesse Mayfield, Buckhead, and Sandra and Jerry Bailey, McDonough; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mr. Gooch’s wishes were to be cremated.

Ola Bell McElduff: Obituary

Obituaries

Mrs. Ola Bell McElduff, age 78, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

Mrs. McElduff was born in White County on August 15, 1940 to the late Homer and Pauline Gooch Summerour. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Marion McElduff, son Bobby Darrell McElduff, sister Ruth Dover, brothers Bill Summerour and Henry Summerour, and great-grandson Devin Woods.

Mrs. McElduff attended Antioch Baptist Church and she was a member of the Auraria Community House. She loved to dance, play rummy, and wear her jewelry. Mrs. McElduff was affectionately called “Granny” by her grandchildren. She had a way of making people feel very special when she talked to them. Mrs. McElduff made an impression on her family and friends and her mark will never leave them.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Brenda McElduff, Dahlonega; sister Barbara Summerour, Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Gail Summerour; special friend, of 23 years, John Hendrick, Dahlonega; daughter-in-law Sally McElduff, Dahlonega; grandchildren Nina and Wesley Fields, Crystal and Jim Isom, Holly and Chad Hicks, Bobbie Faye McElduff, Miranda and David Keyton, David and Susan Wood, and Shelly and Devin Mims; great-grandchildren Danielle, Devin, Bradley, Luci, Cooper, Rylin, Tyler, Liam, Lily, David Paul, Cody, Jaida, Peylin, and Micahlynn; great-great-grandson Jayce; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Summerour Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Nancy Lou Taylor: Obituary

Obituaries

Mrs. Nancy Lou Taylor, age 87, of Dahlonega, formerly of East Point, GA, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Portsmouth, OH on February 23, 1931 to the late Willard M. and Katherine Call Beekman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Taylor was one of ten children leaving only one of her siblings still living.

Mrs. Taylor had worked as an administrative assistant for 29 years at Point University (formally known as Atlanta Christian College). Her heart was dedicated to serving the Lord at Point University. Mrs. Taylor invested in the students and she loved to interact with them. She loved to read and listen to Gospel music. Her chocolate chip cookies were the best!

Mrs. Taylor left an amazing testimony for her family. She was a faithful member of East Point Christian Church.  Mrs. Taylor taught Sunday School and worked faithfully at church camp each year. She was affectionately called “Grandma” by her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Susan Taylor, Springville, AL; son Steven Taylor, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Kathy Taylor, Marietta; Jay and Kelly Taylor, Fayetteville; and David and Toni Taylor, Cleveland; brother William Beekman, Ohio; grandchildren Christopher and Emily Taylor, John and Shalena Taylor, Scott and Tiffany Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor, Jayson and Anna Taylor, Steven Taylor, Valerie and Thomas Aseff, Rebekah Taylor, and Rachel Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mrs. Taylor’s wishes were to be cremated.  Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at East Point Christian Church.  The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.  The Rev. Wye Huxford will officiate.
