Lumpkin County man charged with burglary

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Ryan Williams, 36 of Dahlonega on Aug. 21 and charged him with the theft of dozens of tools and lawn equipment from a residence on Rancho Del Oro Court.

According to the incident report, the homeowner spotted a suspicious person driving a four-wheeler around the residence at approximately 5:30 a.m. and called 911. When officers responded, they spotted Williams driving a lawn mower on Mt. Olive Church Road. The homeowner stated the items on the lawnmower and dozens of items was stolen from his barn.

While waiting for the homeowner to identify the items, Williams fled the scene on foot. Deputies gave chase, but lost him in the nearby woods. He was arrested three days later at his home on Jess Grizzle Road.

Items identified as stolen, include a lawn mower, two mitre saws, two nail guns, a trailer, two routers, a table saw and dozens of smaller tools. Most of the items were stolen from the barn, but several items appeared to have been stolen from an unoccupied and secured house where entry was made via a broken window in the basement.

Williams has been charged with second degree burglary, forced entry burglary, entering an auto and obstruction of officers.
