Deputies Arrest Man with Weapons and Heroin

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The report of a suspicious truck left abandoned with a dog inside led to a foot chase, an arrest and the confiscation of 19 grams of heroin and a sawed off shotgun Tuesday.
The incident began when a resident reported a Dodge pickup truck parked and seemingly abandoned on Chestatee Shoals Drive off Cavender Creek Road. The truck was parked on the single-lane in a way that caused other vehicles to have to drive off the road to get around it.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office who responded contacted the owner by phone and learned the truck had been taken under suspicious circumstances.

While the deputy was investigating, another vehicle arrived and stopped further down the road. As the deputy drove towards the vehicle, he spotted a male walking down the road carrying a bag that was discovered to contain a sawed off shotgun, 19 grams of heroin and a pistol.
Deputies with the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Georgia State Patrol and White County Sheriff’s Office participated in the foot pursuit that resulted in 27-year-old Steven Smith.
UPDATE: Smith has been charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a certain type of prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, sale and manufacture of a controlled substance and criminal use of an article with altered identification. He is also charged with one misdemeanor, possession of drug related objects.

Approximately 300 suspected alprazolam pulls confiscated during drug raid this week.
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – On Tuesday, Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Deputies, and members of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) conducted a drug investigation that led to the seizure of approximately 300 suspected alprazolam pills and the arrest of 21-year-old John David Herrin of Dahlonega.
Herrin is charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance with intent to distribute, misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement officers, and abandonment of dangerous drugs.

Two Lumpkin County residents charged with sale of methamphetamine

DAHLONEGA, Ga. On Thursday, August 15, 2019, following a 3-month long investigation, Members of the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office along with Agents of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed two search warrants in Lumpkin County. ATF Agents and the Georgia Department of Corrections also assisted in the raid.
Search warrants were executed at 223 Royal Court, Dahlonega, GA and 265 King Arthur Court, Dahlonega, GA.
Kelly Ann Haas (38) of 223 Royal Court, Dahlonega was arrested at her residence and charged with: Sale of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Xanax (schedule IV narcotic).
Andrew Evans
Andrew Jonathon Evans (20) of 265 King Arthur Court, Dahlonega, and son of Haas, was
arrested at his residence and charged with three (3) counts Sale of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to distribute, Sale of Buprenorphine, and four (4) counts of Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Both suspects were transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
Approximately 2 ounces of Methamphetamine was seized throughout this investigation
Additional Charges are pending.

Lumpkin Sheriff’s Office, ARDEO make drug bust

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – An investigation by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) led to the arrest Tuesday (Dec. 19) of 45-year-old Tony Anthony Monteith, of Dahlonega.
Agents seized methamphetamine, marijuana, clonazepam and hydrocodone with a street value of $2,200. Monteith was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of clonazepam (a schedule IV controlled substance), and possession of hydrocodone. He was transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Lumpkin Co. Drug Bust Nets $43,659 in Methamphetamine
News January 31, 2017DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and Georgia State Patrol made a drug bust Monday that netted two suspects and nearly a pound of methamphetamine with a street value more than $43,000.

As the search was being obtained, Georgia State Patrol provided surveillance of the residence. Charles Buck Granados left the residence just prior to the search being conducted and was arrested at Linda’s Convenience Store 5001 Hwy. 129. Granados was a federal fugitive being sought by the U.S. Marshal’s. In addition to the federal charges, he has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine in Lumpkin County. Laurie Morgan was also arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine in connection with this search warrant.
Lumpkin County Residents Arrested on Drug Charges

DAHLONEGA — Three Lumpkin County residents were arrested Friday following a drug investigation by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.
Erin Bouverette, 30, was arrested after a warrant that was served at her residence on Stephens Street in Dahlonega netted approximately 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Eric Hample, 47, and Clyde Adams, 53, were also at the residence when the search was carried out. Lumpkin County officers then searched Adams’ residence on Rens Way in Dahlonega where approximately 32 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Drugs confiscated had a total street value of roughly $3,740.
Bouverette and Hample have been charged with possession of methamphetamine while Adams faces a charge of trafficking methamphetamine. All three were transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center without incident.
