City Council to Ratify Agreement With Georgia Board of Regents

News

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Dahlonega City Council is expected to ratify an agreement with the Board of Regents (BOR) of the University System of Georgia at Tuesday’s council meeting that calls for the BOR to pay the city $209,802 for certain water and sewer connection fees.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Dahlonega City Hall.

That payment represents the final payment in a dispute between the city and BOR and is in addition to the $260,000 already paid to the city.

Council also will consider an ordinance to amend the city’s zoning map, changing the zoning on a .84 acre parcel of land on land lot 985 in the 12th district to R-3 Multi-family residential with several conditions including that uses shall be limited to those of the R-2 district and any proposed sewer mains must meet the City of Dahlonega Comprehensive Development Regulations.

City council is expected to renew the agreement with the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce for tourism promotional services.

There also will be reports presented by the Planning and Zoning Department, Historic Preservation Commission, Finance and Downtown Development Authority.
