Mrs. Pamela Bowlby Glaze, age 63, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.
Mrs. Glaze was born in New Jersey on November 27, 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Linda Bowlby; and her brother Mark Bowlby. Mrs. Glaze has lived in Dahlonega for a number of years. She was a loving mother and cared deeply for her animals. Her love for the mountains she lived in escalated at this time of the year because she loved fall and winter. Mrs. Glaze also loved the beach and her favorite beach to visit was Coco Beach. Mrs. Glaze had worked in early childhood care with the Lumpkin County Head Start.
Survivors include her daughters Kelly Lynn Glaze and Kim Robinson; son Chris Robinson; sister Cyndie Lee; and brother David Bowlby.

Mrs. Donna Sue Roland, age 59, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Donna was born in Tate, GA on October 14, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father Donas D. Roland and brother Dennis Roland. Donna loved her nieces and nephews very much. In fact, to say she spoiled them is an understatement. She loved everyone she met and that love was given right back to her. Donna was as special and unique as anyone could be and will be greatly missed by her family. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Silver City.
Survivors include her loving mother Estelle Roland, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law Doyal and Deborah Roland, Murrayville; sister and brother in law Darlene Rebecca and Allen Stone, Dawsonville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, a great nephew and a great great niece.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Danny Spurr will officiate. Interment will follow in Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Exie Ann Davis: Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Exie Ann Davis announces her passing on July 31, 2018, at her home in Dahlonega, Georgia. Exie was surrounded by her loving husband and immediate family during the days leading up to her passing.
Born on July 8, 1939, to Jody and Mattie Lou Newton in Century, Florida, she grew up in Pensacola and graduated from Pensacola High School. Exie married Robert Davis on December 14, 1957 and embraced the life of a Navy wife. Upon Mr. Davis’ retirement they settled in Orange Park, Florida then made one last move to Dahlonega, Georgia in 2006.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, the Dahlonega Woman’s club as well as a Dahlonega book club. Exie was an avid reader, a gourmet cook, enjoyed old movies, country music and loved her family with all of her heart.
Exie enjoyed a wonderful life of romance and travel throughout her 61 years of marriage to her husband Robert Davis. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter Robin Chase and son Robert Davis Jr and the beloved sister of Jodie Newton. She was a joy to be around and made many, many friends throughout the years. She will be fondly remembered by all.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Dahlonega Funeral Home, 20 Gibson Rd., Dahlonega, Georgia.
A service will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 11 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia for the immediate family.
Eva Nell Cain: Obituary

Eva Nell Cain, age 78, of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away July 3, 2018, at Foothills Retirement Home following an extended illness. She was born October 2, 1939. The daughter of Frank Wesley Ridley and Bessie Missouri Head, Eva Nell was a lifelong resident of Dahlonega and a member of Yahoola Baptist Church.
Eva Nell retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as a federal inspector and worked for many years at Park’s Clothing Store in Dahlonega. She was also a poll worker for more than 50 years, helping hold elections in the Yahoola precinct of Lumpkin County.
Eva Nell is survived by her three children Timothy Mark Cain, Jeanna Cain Moffett (Paul) of Columbia, S.C., and Nan Cain Tolbert of Cumming, Ga.. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Adam Tolbert (Amanda), Mark Cain (Amber) of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Cain and Casey Moffett of Columbia, S.C., and three great grandchildren, Dakota and Ashton Tolbert, and Ava Mae Cain of Flowery Branch.
Eva Nell will long be remembered for her perseverance in the face of adversity, her outgoing personality and her unconditional love for her family. The family would like to extend its gratitude to Glenda Sue Weaver and the entire staff of Foothills Retirement Home for the loving care they provided for Eva Nell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Dahlonega Funeral Home, with the funeral service at Yahoola Baptist Church on Friday, July 6. Eva Nell will lie in state at 2:30 p.m., and funeral services will begin at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Mattie Bell Floyd Shiver, age 74, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Mattie was born in Blakely, GA on August 17, 1943 to the late George and Addie Lou Harrell Floyd. She was one of the first female EMT’s in her community. Mattie was a nursing assistant. She loved to fish and cook (in that order). Mattie loved her flower garden and she was a happy “good ole girl”.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years Bill Shiver, Dahlonega; daughter Stacey Shiver, Dawsonville; granddaughters Payton Ramsey, and Sydney Ramsey; great grandbaby Colt Bryan; sister and brother in law Emma Jean and Carroll Lanton; sisters Linda Craft, Janette Watson, and Reba Hall, all of Blakely, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mattie’s wishes were to be cremated and her family will have a memorial service later in the summer in her hometown of Blakely, GA.

Mrs. Margaret “Maggie” Rose Patterson, age 51, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her residence.
Maggie was born in Gordon County on July 15, 1966. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathryn Walker Weaver, sister Nancy Mullis, and mother in law Helen Alene Seabolt. Maggie never had children, but she loved and raised her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She was the kindest and sweetest person you would ever meet. Maggie was a member of Grace Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Michael Patterson, Dahlonega; father and step mother Mark and Barbara Weaver, Dahlonega; maternal grandmother Montine Clark, Gainesville; brother and sister in law William and Francine Weaver; brother Tony Weaver; sisters and brothers in law Cassie and Richard Johnson and Dinah and Robert Johnson; sister Lora Schmidt; brother in law Sammy Mullis, all of Dahlonega; sisters and brothers in law Cindy and Kelly Smith, Dalton, and Sarah and Shane Abernathy, Dahlonega; sister in law and brother in law Brenda and Danny Abercrombie, Dawsonville; sister in law Betty Patterson, Cumming; brother in law Jeffrey Patterson, Dahlonega; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Clifford Lamar Stancil, age 85 of Dahlonega went home to be with The Lord on April 30, 2018 with his wife and family by his side.
Mr. Stancil was born in Lumpkin County on May 17, 1932 to the late Clifford and Audra “Ozell” Fields Stancil. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Kay Stancil and son Jesse Levi Stancil. Mr. Stancil served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Cavenders Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, whom he has been with for over 47 years, Glinda Stancil, Dahlonega; daughter and son in law Debbie and Rickey Pitchford, Dahlonega; son and daughter in law Ricky and Kim Stancil, Holly Springs; daughter and son in law Audra and Kenny Michael, Dahlonega; sister and brother in law Mildred and Dick Hardy, Dahlonega; grandchildren Brett Stancil, Ryan Pitchford, Jessica Pitchford, Bethany Dix, Alyssa Green-Michael; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Cavenders Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Stephen Adams and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Owensboro, KY on January 24, 1940 to the late Buck and Wilma Oost Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Alan Mitchell, daughter Debra Dru Mitchell, sister and brother in law Shirley and Raymond Wells, and brother Fred Phillips. Mrs. Mitchell proudly served in the United States Air Force where she retired after a full career as a Clerk. After retiring from the Air Force, she was the store manager for Cameron’s Pharmacy. Mrs. Mitchell was of the Methodist Faith.
A time of remembrance for Mrs. Mitchell is scheduled for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Banister Funeral Home.

Getz, Dahlonega, GA Sister, Savannah Tuthill and Niece, Annabelle Tuthill, Grandparents, Larry (Nancy) Getz, Sr. Lawrenceville, GA, and Larry and Judy Appelgren, Stewart FL, Uncle, L. He was preceded in death by his Brother, Angus Gage and his Grandmother, Patsy Atwater Getz of Atlanta and Grandfather Thomas Tuthill of Covington, GA. Russell James Ford died unexpectedly in Dahlonega, GA on April 1st, 2018 at the age of 21.
Russell is survived by his parents, Ronald J. Ford of Milwaukee, WI and Debra A. Fox of Dahlonega, GA
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Wall and his paternal grandparents, John and Patricia Ford.
Russell was born on May 31st, 1996 in Fond du Lac, WI. He lived in Fond du Lac as well as Riverview, FL before moving to Dahlonega, GA in 2008. Russell graduated from Lumpkin County High School. He loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time in the forests of Northern Wisconsin. He was an avid woodworker and self-taught auto repairman. He read extensively and acquired an eclectic library in a very short time. He always loved animals and volunteered at the local animal shelter.
There will be a memorial service led by Fr. Tim Kitzke on April 7th, 2018 at 12:00 pm in Milwaukee, WI at St. Hedwig-Three Holy Women Catholic Parish, 1702 N. Humboldt Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53202.
A Funeral service is scheduled for April 12th, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Dahlonega, GA 30533. Fr. John Matejek will lead the service. A small reception will follow in the parish hall.

Robert Austin Dover, 83, of Dahlonega Georgia, passed away March 27, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was surrounded by his three loving daughters.
Bob was born on August 10, 1934 and lived most of his life in Dahlonega.
He served in the US Army in 1957. He was known for his love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, music, Bluegrass, and NASCAR.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mae Dover; Brother Vinson Dover, and Sister Vivian Stephens.
Bob is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Tripp and Natalie King, Dahlonega,
Billy and Sadie Adams, Cleveland, and Greg and Lisa Raber, Gainesville, nine Grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren, sisters Jane Anderson and Barbara Caldwell, Dahlonega, several nieces, nephews and long-time special friends and neighbors; Kenneth and Neita Beasley, Dahlonega.
The family will receive visitors from 3-8 PM on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at Dahlonega Funeral Home and Thursday 2 until service time.

Mr. Frankie Gilreath, age 76, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Monday, March 19, 2018.
Mr. Gilreath was born June 25, 1941 in Lumpkin County to the late Hubert John Gilreath and Eula Berry Gilreath. Frankie was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a simple man who loved his wife. He enjoyed carpentry work and loved watching Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Hope Gilreath, brother, Jerry Gilreath and sister, Doris Burns.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Frances Gilreath, Dahlonega; son, Jason Chad Gilreath, Dahlonega; sister, Shirley Burnett, Greenville, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Hayward and Maureen Gilreath, Red Bay, FL; sister, Brenda Wall, Oakwood; brother-in-law, Tommy Burns, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Gilreath; Erica and Michael Mendenhall; Johnathan Gilreath, Leanna Gilreath, Amber Gilreath, Jonathan Black, Victoria Gilreath, and Natalie Gilreath; great grandchildren, Carter Gilreath, Grayson Gilreath, Kaydance Gilreath, and Brannon Mendenhall.

Mr. Scotty Ray Miles, age 52, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019.
Scotty was born in Hall County on August 28, 1967. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Miles, step-son James Murphy, and his father Stephen Miles, Sr. Scotty attended Lumpkin County High School and was of the Baptist faith. He worked at B and M Metals and had volunteered for many years as a firefighter for Lumpkin County, Station 2. Scotty lived a quiet and peaceful life.
Survivors include his mother Vergie Miles, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters-in-law Chad and Loretta Miles, Dahlonega, and Steve and Mandi Miles, North Carolina; step-son Jeffery Miles, California; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Stone and Mr. Joe Lanier will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to the hour of the service Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Larry James Robinson, age 65, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019.
Larry was born in White County on October 23, 1953 to the late J.C. and Zora Hester Robinson. He was retired after many years of dedicated service to Windstream. Larry enjoyed life to the fullest. He would often say “Find something you love to do and do it”. Larry was loving life and riding his motorcycle with his son, who is his best friend, on Sunday when the Lord called Larry home. He was enjoying retired life and all that comes with it from riding his motorcycle to fishing. Larry deeply adored and was greatly loved by his great-nephews and niece.
Survivors include his wife Jan Robinson, Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law Josh and Ashley Robinson, Dahlonega; brother Bobby Robinson, Dahlonega; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Penny Lunsford, Dahlonega; father-in-law Waldo Lunsford, Dahlonega; nephews Robby Robinson (Christina), Cleveland, and Clint and Lyndsey Freeland, Dahlonega; niece Laura Lunsford, Dahlonega; special great-nephews Jack Freeland and Rhett Freeland; and special great-niece Evy Freeland.

Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Dusty is survived by her husband Ben Popko; sons Logan Popko, Bricen Popko, Micah Popko, all of Dahlonega, Georgia; mother Kathy Burger Kaylor, of Blue Ridge, Georgia; father and his wife Rusty and Victoria Kaylor, of Dahlonega, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law Kimberley and John David Hyde, of Blue Ridge, Georgia: She is survived by Nieces who were like daughters Kelley Kaylor and Emily (Heath) Giddy, and Nephew Caleb Hyde. Dusty was known for her amazing love for God. She fought a long battle and praised God until her final breath. She brought laughter whenever she entered the room, and was known for her random singing, her amazing artistic abilities, and love of traveling. Dusty loved her family and had many friends. She loved spending time at Hobby Lobby exploring her next craft project. She, along with her friend Karen, loved face painting at local craft shows and festivals. A great passion of hers was her church family, mentoring the youth, and the performances of the annual Easter and Christmas Plays. Her family and her loved to prepare Gourmet Meals at Home. Mrs. Patricia Ann Cox, age 87, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019.
Mrs. Cox was born in London, England on November 20, 1931 to the late Kenneth and Eileen Beatrice Bowles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Jeffery W. Cox who passed away in 2010. Mrs. Cox loved living in Dahlonega, especially her home surrounded by all the beautiful trees. She moved to Canada because of the housing shortage in London after the blitz and lived there for six years until she moved to the United States in 1963. Mrs. Cox became a US citizen in 1973. She worked as a draft person in London and she was an accomplished artist and poet.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Maurice W. Cox, Dahlonega and her three beloved dogs. Mrs. Cox was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
