Dahlonega man charged with aggravated battery

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – A 57-year-old Dahlonega man was charged with aggravated battery following a argument with his girlfriend at a residence on Dogwood Trail last week.
Darrell Lee Hayes was arrested for allegedly striking Robin Brown with a metal pole after the couple argued over his bank account.
When Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they reported the victim’s forearm was extremely swollen and a bruise was beginning to form around the wrist.
While Brown repeatedly said she believed her arm was broken, she refused Lumpkin County EMS services. Hayes was handcuffed and transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Dahlonega man arrested for kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery
News August 10, 2020LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — A Dahlonega man was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and false imprisonment after he allegedly attacked a 45-year-old woman at her home on Elbert Gaddis Road on Tuesday (Aug. 4).
According to the incident report, when a deputy with the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office arrived in response to a physical domestic in progress, the woman was lying on the driveway bruised and bloodied as Chase Martin Howard, 22, attempted to cover her mouth and drag her into an outbuilding. He attempted to flee, but was handcuffed and taken into custody.
The woman said Howard moved into her house shortly after being released from jail and they began to argue. She said he busted her television, threw her to the floor and from that point on, she was held against her will.
She said she had been kicked and hit in the back of the head, ribs, back, and stomach repeatedly. She suffered multiple bone fractures around her eye and a broken nose during the attack.

William Taffar arrested for credit card theft
News June 30, 2020LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — A Cleveland man was arrested by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office last week on charges of financial transaction card theft.
According to the incident report, the victim stated he had his credit card out paying bills when 36-year-old William Matthew Taffar visited. When Taffar left, the card was missing.
The victim stated the card had been used at multiple locations and charges totaled $200.

Dahlonega man arrested for aggravated assault

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – Randall Thomas Hanley, 38, of Dahlonega was arrested last week on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated stalking, battery, false imprisonment and criminal trespass following a domestic violence incident on Rock Garden Place.
According to the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Hillary Lisa Watson, 32, said when she returned home, Hanley became verbally abusive, punching her in the face, grabbing her by the throat and throwing her to the ground.
Watson said when she saw an opportunity to escape, she ran to her car and drove away. When Lumpkin County Sheriff’s deputies arrived, there were visible signs of an altercation, including blood on the bed. When deputies contacted Watson she returned to the scene and deputies observed a bloody lip and bruises on her arms.
Deputies handcuffed Hanley and transported him to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Lee arrested for battery, cruelty to children
News June 2, 2020LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – Christopher DeWayne Lee, 34 of Dahlonega, has been charged with third degree cruelty to children and battery –family violence following a domestic incident on Ben Higgins Road Saturday (May 28).
According to an incident report by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, Tesha May Robertson, 28, returned home from work to find Lee intoxicated. Robertson stated that Lee began calling her names and when she asked him to stop, he slapped her on the ear, pushed her onto the bed and bit her. The report states there were visible signs of both.
The cruelty to children charge stems from the fact that a juvenile witnessed the incident.
The report further states that Lee was heavily intoxicated and gave contradictory statements to deputies. He first stated he had not bit Robertson, but later admitted he did. Deputies handcuffed him and took him to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Lumpkin County man arrested for battery, criminal trespass
News June 2, 2020LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – A 24-year-old Lumpkin County man was arrested on charges of simple battery-family violence and criminal trespass last week.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call on Thursday (May 28) where, according to the incident report, Joanne Rider said her son, Tyler Holloway, chased her through the house and punched her before punching through a window and cutting his arm.
Holloway’s grandfather said he was asleep when he heard screaming and awoke to see Holloway fighting with his mother before he called 911. According to the report there was no visible sign of injury to Joanne Rider and she later changed her story to say her son did not hit her.
Holloway was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for medical treatment then to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Lumpkin County woman charged with battery

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – A 53-year-old Lumpkin County woman was arrested last week on charges of simple assault, simple battery and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree, following an altercation with her daughter at 780 King Richard Court in Murrayville.
Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office deputy Kyle Kupari and Sgt. Rebecca Nix responded to a domestic call at 2:20 p.m. on April 15. According to the arrest report, Joni Deanne Etris said her mother, Juanita Hunt, had been staying at her home and watching her two children while she was at work. She told deputies that when she got home from work, she and her mother got into a heated argument that got out of hand and her mother pushed her.
One of the juveniles said there was a video of the incident and, after viewing the video, deputies arrested Hunt, placed her in handcuffs and transported her to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
